Oppo 93 to Sony x850b hdmi issue

My oppo 93 works perfectly on my old LG but does not play well at all with my new Sony. When I even connedt a known good hdmi between the two, the oppo freezes up and will not even allow the eject button to be used. Stand alone, and it works just fine. Any one have even the slightest clue on this?

    Does it at least recognize it and display the Oppo logo when you switch the input to Blu/Dvd on the remote, or does it say Blu Ray player not detected?

    Yes... Should have stated that. The oppo logo appears on the tv but the re are no functions at all from the player that work. Not even the eject button.

    I googled.....oppo 93 locks up on sony tv and this is what came up

    Thanks TX.. I will do the downloads tomorrow. Getting that sucker on the wall today way a big project. Everything was measured and re measured ten more times. I even had to factor in the opening of my turntable lid.

    Should be noted the vast majority of these 4k TV's need updates immediately. Always do the updates when you first plug them in and set up. You can also find calibration settings online.
