Hi.....a few weeks ago static began coming from my subwoofer. Nothing changed in my system (TV, surround sound), static just started. I shut everything off at the time and since have only turned on the system, no subwoofer. I turned the subwoofer on this morning and immediately a knocking kind go sound came from it, along with static. When I turned my entire system on the static began again. Any thoughts on what the problem can be?

I think that it is a capacitor going bad in the sub woofer amp.
It's trying to charge up properly then it drops, that's the pop or static.
It's a very cheap part but a pain to replace. Are you still in warranty?
I would call CS if so. If not look for a cap that is bulging at the top or leaking.POLK SDA 2.3 TLS BOUGHT NEW IN 1990, Gimpod/Sonic Caps/Mills RDO-198
