AVA amp?

I'm still looking for something to pair w/ the 703's while getting
the fundage together. Audio by Van Alstine are in reach. I've read some
old comments from this site but... Does/did anyone run one of
his SS amps and what did you think?

I should add that I'm looking for something in the 200 watt range that
is tube sounding w/out tubes. :# The new Vincent would be ideal but
    A) don't have that king of scratch and B) I fear soldering tubes as much
as tubes. Well, I don't fear tubes but a tube amp isn't going to work well
in my system. Under two G's seems to be the upper limit...

McCormack....and you can stop right there for SS with a tube like flavor. Pass would be my other choice but way too expensive.

The other guys I've talked into the McCormacks are still trying to find their nose 'cause their sack is stuck to their face.

Or....I can sell ya my Butler for 1700 shipped. A tubed hybrid which you'll never have to swap out the tubes, can't actually. It's a TDB2250, you can check it out at Butler audio.
