SDA CRS vs Monitor 7

I have a set of M7's, love em. There are some SDA CRS for sale ($200) that look to be good condition. I was thinking wood bar stools would make good stands. Would those be an upgrade from the M7? How is the bass from the CRS?

Which version are they? 84' 2nd generation CRS with two tweeters, 86' 3rd Generation CRS+ with single tweeter, or 87'/89' 4th generation CRS+ with single tweeter? The 2nd generation is less desirable, followed by the 3rd. All of them will outshine the Monitor 7s, providing you like the interaural crosstalk cancellation provided by the SDAs. I would not use a bar stool as a stand. The original drawing for the stands is in the vintage SDA schematics section. You could also purchase or make suitable stands, that will put the tweeters at the correct height.Home Theater/2 Channel:

I just said don't use bar stools for stands. But someone crafty enough with the right stool could probably make it work. Don't just plop them on the stool and walk away. That would be horrible. But then some of the noobs that post here have horrendous SDA setups. My M 7's from '85-86 have one side gone silent. I have had to replace mid's and crossover's over the years, but now all is silence on the left side speaker.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Why was that as it's highly unusual?
I don't recall if your speakers have fuses on the binding post plate. If so, check those.Political Correctness'.........defined
