Link does not exist ??

The reason for this post is that many of the links that I click on say:
"The page you requested does not exist or is no longer available. If you feel you've reached this page by mistake, please verify the web address and try again."
There are all sorts of things I would like to read but I cannot reach them. Can someone tell me what to do? I hate to ask questions that have already been answered. Thanks.

What links are you clicking on? From Google or from here in Vanilla? Some of the Google links are trying to go to the old forum.afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

Here.. I will post one. I went to this page:
http://forum.polkaudio.com/discussion/163485/magnet-shift
Then when I got there I clicked the third post down:
http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?135716-Let-s-Try-to-Fix-a-MW6511-Damaged-in-Shipping... -
Oh BTW: What I was trying to do was find out about the possibility of fixing a shifted magnet at that time ..What I really want to read about is the TL MOD. I really don't know what a TL MOD is so that is what I really want to know about. Perhaps a how to and an explanation of the TL MOD so when I go back into the speakers when the parts I ordered come in to work on the crossover I know what I should do when I am in there. Thanks.

^The issue is the forum URL changed recently when they moved from a VBulletin Platform to a Vanilla platform.
90% of the links within the forum were broken once they did this."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." William Bruce Cameron, Informal Sociology: A Casual Introduction to Sociological Thinking (1963) -
When Polk switched from vBulletin to Vanilla all the links were broken because Vanilla is such a @*&$%#!@* DISASTER!!!
What SDA model would you like to do the TL mod to?Political Correctness'.........defined

Nevermind, you have the blade/blade 2B's. Look at the schematics for the CRS+ with a note at the bottom that says SL3000 Modification Per CBC 06-18-90
Basically, you add a 5.8uF cap, which is noted in bold on the schematic.Political Correctness'.........defined

I'm new here, and had quickly ran into the same issue (dead links.)
I have found a way to work around it, not perfect, but this will get you what you've asked for.
The old links don't work directly, but you can still use the "thread number" from the old links by just pasting that number into the new format url, and it works!
your example:
http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?135716-Let-s-Try-to-Fix-a-MW6511-Damaged-in-Shipping...
Here your target thread number = 135716, so that is what you need to copy.
Next, if you observe the url for the page we are on right now, it looks like this:
http://forum.polkaudio.com/discussion/168109/link-does-not-exist
Just insert the old link number (135716) in place of the current page discussion number (168109) and truncate (remove everything else to the right), so it looks like this:
http://forum.polkaudio.com/discussion/135716
You still don't get the convenience of just clicking a functional link that auto-opens in a new window, but it does find the target, and you can always manually start it in a new tab if desired.

This looks like a good work around. I have many old discussions bookmarked from v-bulletin. When I get to a PC rather than phone I'll give it a try. Lots of info that was bookmarked can hopefully now be more easily found than trying to search. Just have to see if the bookmarked old discussions have a link number. Thank you John @ibt72x

To all above thank you. This will be extremely helpful as "I like to read all about it" before I post some lame question that has already been covered. I also have the tendency to forget and not comprehend as well as I did in my youth. However the mania is still there and I still "jump the gun" quite often.

Found it NP. Your help is priceless ! Now saved in Polk folder ! Thanks again.

I will need to order these(5.8 uf) so should I wait till I put in the new tweeters before the install of the new caps ? It will be a while before I can get the new tweeters
-
Yes, you should wait. You plan on getting the RD0198-1 tweeters, right?Political Correctness'.........defined

I think so but it will be a while as my hobby budget tank is empty. I did order the 20uF x2 and the 40uF x 2 I have already put those in one network however when trying to put the Mills 0.5 ohm resistors I came upon a snag. If I put them in vertical the lead does not reach. If I put them on the bottom of the board or the top then I have flying leads not unlike my tube amp !

Make dog legs with the leads, then you can mount them on top or bottom.Political Correctness'.........defined

Yes, that's what I was going to do but these things are big and I really wanted to kind of flush mount. Oh well, it seems like I just do not get every thing I want Thanks again.

They should fit either way.

Thanks I did so. I appreciate any and all reminders and corrections as well. Keep in mind my above post:
