I recently found a listing for a pair of SDA 1A's on craigslist, and i need a bit of help to make sure that they will work properly with my current audio system. I have a pioneer VSX-1020 receiver, my left and rights are currently Sony SS-U780's and they're hooked up to a polk PSW10 through high level inputs. What im mostly concerned about is that I need a common ground amp for these to work with the interconnect cable, and I have no idea how to tell if my receiver is. Also if it isnt, then is it still possible to run these speakers without the interconnect cable and still get an acceptable sound? Thanks.

Welcome to CP. 99.99999% of AVRs are common ground, however your receiver does not have sufficient power to run the 1As, and is not rated for 4ohm speakers.Home Theater/2 Channel:

damn, well thats out of the picture now. I was also looking at a pair of 11T's that are 6 ohm. Are those compatible with my receiver?

Yes they should work. Fine speaker too. Not sure if the surround speakers need to be same ohm's. Maybe others will chime in. HT im not good withPost edited by boston1450 on..
