Rti6 sounds flat

I just brought these out of storage and set them up. I am using the rti6 for my left and right channel with a denon avr 400. One of the speakers sounds flat or muted even when I swapped the channels. The same speaker sounds flat. Any ideas??

    Hello,
Do you find one or two pairs of binding posts on the rear of the cabinet? If two pairs, check to make sure the binding post jumper plates are making good contact with the upper and lower sets.

  • Yea I read that somewhere. Checked it and it was definitely good. Also sound is just not coming out of the tweeter. I checked the connection from it to the board and it looks fine. Is it possible that the tweeter just died??

If you have a meter, check the resistance of the voice coil. Disconnect the tweeter from the XO, then measure. If the resistance is infinite: the VC or the tinned leads to the VC are broken--it's dead. If the resistance is zero: the VC has shorted out--it's dead. If the resistance is 4 to 8 ohms (not sure what that driver should be, maybe compare w/ the good tweeter), then it's probably OK; check it out with a LOW level signal direct to the tweeter; if it makes sound, then the problem is in the XO.

    Good luck!
