So I lied, I think its best I just wait until the 646 drops http://www.onkyousa.com/Products/model.php?m=TX-NR646&class=Receiver&source=prodClass
It has both DTS:X and Atmos.
I dont want to buy something and then itch to upgrade right away. Future proofing sucks.
So my Purchasing plan is to get RTi8's after research it appears they are the exact same as the rti a5's....
Still getting the SVS pb1000
And I may use the Klipsch satellite quintets for surround. One guy advised not too as they are different brands and may sound different.
Thanks for all the help, you guys are very informative and awesome! -
The 646 has no pre-outs. Why do you need them ? If you ever want to upgrade the speakers and need more power, you can't add an amplifier to that receiver. In other words your stuck with what the receiver is capable of driving, and RTI 8's are getting close to it's limits.HT SYSTEM-

You don't want used, but how about refurbished. A lot of people on this site have gotten equipment from accessories4less. Here's an example of a heck of a receiver from Marantz for much less than retail at $420.
http://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/marsr5008/marantz-sr5008-7.2-network-home-theater-receiver-with-airplay/1.html#!specifications
It has pre-outs, Airplay, MultiEQ XT and a ton of HDMI inputs.

Here's a nice Yamaha also with preouts for a bit less at $350.
I wish I had known about that site before I bought my little Yammy. -
Ok guys, I'm adjusting my current system to see how it sounds.
The Denon AVR-590
Klipsch quintet
PSW10 Sub
Now how do I set this up via crossover and everything else.
I lost my Audessey Mic a while ago so I have to do this manual.
And thanks for the replies all. -
Ok time for my two cents. you said a budget of $1500 so let me see. I do live on the cheap so I might be able to help a bit. I have two nice systems that actually sound very nice and have set up some others for friends and coworkers that will rock your world.
receiver: you cant go wrong with Onkyo, I have the 626 in the bedroom system. for your main system I would go with the 636 if the price drops to $399 or get the 646 with the DTS-X.
Speakers, monitor 70 are a bit of over kill. To get proper power to the 70's you will need a separate amp which would increase your total cost. I would go with monitor 50's or these TSi300 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Polk-Audio-TSi300-CHERRY-Tower-Speakers-PAIR-/390882089862 you could always spend $100 more and go with the TSx towers http://www.ebay.com/itm/Polk-Audio-TSX330t-CHERRY-Floorstanding-Speaker-PAIR-/361288595709
Center: They don't have the CS2 on eBay but the TSx line is matched to the TSi line http://www.ebay.com/itm/Polk-Audio-TSx250C-CHERRY-Center-Channel-Speaker-/361301960925
surrounds: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Polk-Audio-TSX110B-CHERRY-2-Way-Bookshelf-Speakers-PAIR-/361303401496
A good HSU will do no wrong, I have two of them and they thud my house. The STF-2 is an ok sub but stepping up to the VTF line is what will make the night and day difference.
I did set up a friend with something close to what I have above and it does very nice. So in all with a VTF-2 and Onkyo 626 you will come in @ under your $1500.When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

And one other thing.
All this makes no difference unless you have good speaker wire and HDMI cables. http://douglasconnection.com/Raw-Speaker-Cable_c33.htm call Doug and get some good Furez 12AWG or 14AWG cable. A good blue jeans sub cable http://www.amazon.com/Blue-Jeans-Cable-Double-Shielded-Capacitance/dp/B005979HBM/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1434499297&sr=8-4&keywords=blue+jeans+cable and Costco sells decent HDMI cablesWhen I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Wow, thanks for the post.
That all seems well within my budget.
I'm not looking for anything high end unless I hit the lotto.
Technically anything will sound better than what I currently have.
Your post is much appreciated, thank you.
