Obviously there will be more pics to follow. I still need to cut and secure the 4 dividers and of course sand and stain.
Rough cost including trim screws and a few special drill bits approx. $105

LOL Voltz,
I have the last year and a half's worth of new arrivals in cardboard boxes on the floor.
So once completed it'll be more than 1/2 full. No more boxes.

The legs are only 27" high. No different than most record shops.
I was going for sort of an industrial look.

I really don't know I'll need to get back to you on that question.
Looks 450 conservatively.

Gotcha. Looks nice just was curious if you were going for max storage by adding the option of another rack..."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." This is for only the most recent additions to my collection.
Here is the rest of my vinyl. If I file them right away I might never find them again LOL

Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion."
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

Two coats of stain and here we go. This is all the LP's I purchased since Sept. 2013
This is not it's final stop, it will go into the new HiFi room once completed.

Good job P-Man! I cannot tell what material the legs are made of. They look like 3/4" electrical conduit. What did you use? Thanks
-
The legs are made 1" EMT. The cross members are of 1/2" EMT. I then ran 5/16" all thead thru the 1/2" to tie it all together. It was a bit of a pain drilling all those holes but in the end I'm very pleased with the results.

Thank you for your reply. One more question. Does the box just rest on the six 1" posts inserted into holes in the 2X4's on the box bottom? I was wondering if you possibly fastened the top of the posts in the 2X4's somehow. Thanks again.

No problem
Yes there is a 3" screw that goes all the way thru the 1" EMT.

how many do you have there? do you have an accurate count, or just an approximate? how long have you been collecting these?
I have five records. five. lol.
I had more from when I was a kid, but my brother swiped 'em. Van Halen 1984 was probably my stand-out. six bucks and change in yard money that cost me. rocked it on my little Emerson all-in-one with the speakers with the spongey foam that would disintegrate if you touched it.
nice work on that rack - I wondered at first whether that was a kit for DIY, but you made this from scratch?
I disabled signatures. -

nice work on that rack - I wondered at first whether that was a kit for DIY, but you made this from scratch? From scratch no plans but really it's only a shelf with dividers
Here's a parts list as well as I can remember.
4x8 sheet sanded 1/2" ply. Big cuts done at Home Depot
2 Lengths 1" x 10' EMT
2 Lengths 1/2" x 10' EMT
3 5/16" x 6'. All thread
16 lock nuts 5/16"
6 1 1/8" rubber feet
1 3/4" x 6" pine board
I also bought a package of finishing screws. They look much better than using good old dry wall screws. Also allows me to disassemble if necessary.
I picked up a 3/4" hole saw and a 1 1/8" Fostner bit
I bought everything at Home Depot but the Fostner bit it was picked at Lowe's

hey PMan, where did you get the stand? They were tossing three
steelcase at work and I grabbed them and put them aside.
Fit LP perfect as the inside is adjustable. Too big for my packed
mancave unless I re-org.
which will have to wait until at least the weekend.
Good for hiding Disco LPs -
Good morning Red,
I made the stand from 1" & 1/2" electrical conduit.
Nice pick up with those cabinets. Now all they need is a nice bright orange paint job.
