Parts Help - Polk RTA 11Tl's

Ok guys so I am "debating" modding the crossovers on my RTA 11TL's. I figure from what I've heard there are not a ton of parts, so it shouldn't be super pricey to upgrade them.

That said I'm quite dumb when it comes to what brands to use, and so I need some help. I plan to build a TOTALLY NEW xover for them, not using ANY parts from the originals (including inductors).

I think that will cost more, but in the end I am not limited to placement issues.

I already have a set of Trey's binding cup replacement plates pre-drilled for binding posts, and a set of Cardas binding posts & some Cardas solder. What I need help with are suggestions for the rest of the parts.

What brands value and cost am I looking at here? If keeping the inductors is what I "should" do I can, but the goal was a totally new plug and play xover (including wiring) so I can if I decide to sell my RTA 11TL's at some point, put the old oxvers back in and sell the new xovers separately.

Sonicap/Mills for a warmer sound, Clarity ESAs/Mundorf Mox for a more in your face sound.
Jantzen inductors. The small hi-pass shunt inductor would be special order, but you can pad it with a resistor.
The lo-pass inductors should be off the shelf from Parts Express, but you'll have to unwind them for the correct value.
Both existing inductors should be measured for Inductance and DCR.

Could Gimpod make a board for these like the SDA's since Dan wants to remove old crossover and start fresh with a new plug in set?

It wouldn't be very practical. The crossovers are considerably less complex in the RTAs.

My recommendation would be to use a lexan substrate and do point to point with the new crossover.

Dan, you can always email me or call. While I don't have the businesses that Trey and Dave have or the experience, I am still happy to help you out and have rebuilt several crossovers now including the 15TLs.

@ZLTFUL I was going to contact you once I started getting down to ordering parts to see if you would be interested in doing that for me. I also figured point to point would be the way to go given how basic the components where. Thats also why I was thinking about buying new inductors as well since I figured the parts cost isnt going to be "huge" for new ones of those, but again I could be wrong. And then being able to sell them as a separate component, or sell the old xovers at some point was the other consideration.

I also figured given there is at least one other dude in Indy with the same speakers it might be good to have a discussion that has a parts list on it as well for future reference .

So I'm kinda hoping to put together a list of the values I need and then who to order them from and then tally up the cost for all that.

Even the price on the special order inductor is going to be cheap relatively speaking.
But it will be a 4-6 week wait time to get it in.

Fortunately, the new speakers already have Jantzen perfect lay inductors so all I need to buy are new caps and resistors. Looking forward to doing some more crossover rebuilds!

As you know I move like a turtle so that time frame is no biggie.

So where are the pics of these imaginary speakers?
