Looks like we have the same metal slant stands. Just curious where did you get yours ? Mine I got with my now long forgotten JBL-2060s perched up high and not used ever. Now in service for my '78 M7s.hhmwh7q83bbw.jpg

By the way, I am looking to replace the biding posts, is there a favorite brand?

I can't answer that, but coincidentally I'm also doing my x-overs by sending them out to Dave. Funny that I also spent $60 for the C/L pair of vintage '78 7s and now investing more like you in these set of speakers. I think we live in the same bizzaro universe. Many peeps here have changed their 5 ways from Chinese E-Bay models all the way up to Cardas posts which I don't think 5s need. I also had a little chuckle as you jumped out your out board fuse holders. Me I couldn't find 1A originals so I got 1.5a 250v and worried about them for a second or 2...lol

Nice work. In regards to binding posts, check with Dave - westmassguy. He can recommend some nice reasonably price posts you can buy on flea bay.

How do you guys "re-seal" the posts perforations? Hot glue or the rubber washer will suffice?

Cortico, there are many grommets and bushing that you could use depending on the size of the hole. For my former alarm installer job as you see these plugs fit both 3/4" and 3/8" to fill holes or as a pass throughs, a dab of Aleelne's or glue of your choice they will be there for a life time. If already installed and no larger hole was used then find a rubber grommet that works and do that. Cheapest and easiest would to glue them, neatly.

There's a bit more than 2 months since recap, I believe things are pretty much settle now. The speakers sound pretty good, i initially thought it would be negligible, I believe I notice imaging improvements from the new canard cable and I all new internal wiring.
