CD Storage - New Construction - Eliminated the Wire!

The old wire racks were getting a bit out of hand for the CD collection, so I've been looking for a good solution. Have been ogling this spot for a while, and finally bit the bullet last weekend and got started.

Still needs some finish work, but overall, takes up less space than the racks, keeps everything together, eases alphabetizing, and most importantly, leaves space to pickup another 200 or so CD's!

I'm not a carpenter, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night - OK for a Joe-Homeowner job I thought.

    Looks good! I did a similar project 3 years ago. Not only added way more CD storage but cleaned everything up and made the room look better.

    @chumlie and @vmaxer Yep, for recepticals and outlets, but the shelves on either side are also conveniently just slightly oversized for larger CD jewel cases and cardboard ones.

    The nice thing about custom making your own - you can vary the size on some shelves to accommodate the non-standard jewel cases.

    Yes nice job indeed, I need to rid myself of the various racks and stands and wire things that I got my CD'S stored in. I have a wall between the pub room and 2 channel room that could use a rack just like that. Thanks for sharing.
