Monitor 7 x-over questions

I have a pair of Monitor 7 speakers with Peerless tweets that I will be looking to rebuild the crossovers for. I've looked at the schematics for this model and they show a 34uf electrolytic and 13uf mylar cap as well as a 2ohm, 5w resistor. I might leave the inductors alone for now. As for new cap and resistor values, seems like a Dayton 33uf poly and Clarity 12uf poly are the way to go. Mills 12watt resistor? Is that a 12W 2ohm? Would there be a noticeable degradation if I just went all Dayton on the caps (keeping the sourcing from one supplier)? Thanks in advance.

A lot of the members here lean toward the Clarity or Sonicap caps. If the budget is tight many will use a lower priced cap (Dayton) on the low pass. Many have also used the 33uf in place of the 34uf since it is more readily available. Use the 12 watt Mills resistors. Beware that with the exception of Sonicraft (at least in the past 6 months), vendors are selling Mills resistors made in Mexico and there have been some quality issues.

I used Jantzen Cross Caps on a set of Monitor 7A's with great results. Here is a link:

When Trey (VR3) did my 7C crossover he used Clarity PX's all around along with Mundorf Mox resistors. Granted mine had the SL2000's, which I replaced with 0194's, and you have peerless, but, dang, they sound awesome.
I think you'll be happy either way you go.Remember, when you're running from something, you're running to something...-me -
So my speakers are 7B monitors with the Peerless tweeters. Capacitor values are 12uf for the tweeter and 34uf for the MW6500 driver. Resistor values are 4.5 ohms @5W and 2.7 ohms @5W.
From what I've read, it's important to match resistor values as close as possible, correct. Is a change in value from 2.7w down to 2.5w on the tweeter resistor going to have a noticeable impact (to the average bear - not people with Spidey hearing)?
Likewise with the woofer cap - is a change in value from 34uf to 33uf a big deal? Cap values are stated in +- 5% so I'm thinking this isn't critical.Polk LS 50

Resistor vales are critical in the Hi-Pass Section, as they affect the overall SPL and voicing of the Tweeter. Sonic Craft carries all the values you'll need in Mills, MRA-12.
Don't replace them with 5 waters, use the 12 watt Mills. The 33uf will work fine in the Lo-Pass Shunt.Home Theater/2 Channel:
