Ideal height for Monitor 5 stands

Looking to get a pair of stands for the Monitor 5's I'm re-doing, wondering how high they should be. With my CRS+'s, the ideal height has the tweeter sitting at ear level. But with the monitors, it's a bit different. The Polk stands for the Monitor 7 and 10 are relatively low to the ground, but are tilted back slightly, so there is an upward direction to the sound. Given that the Monitor 5 is smaller, I would assume the speaker should sit a bit higher than the 7's and the 10's. Wondering if this bridge has been crossed already? I tried searching the forum, I've found questions about stands for the 5's, but not much in terms of answers. Any suggestions?
Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

I have a pair of 5Jr+ Series 2 on 22" stands (with no tilt) and I think they should be raised a wee bit higher. Depends on the height of your listening spot. I would say a 24"-26" stand would raise a Monitor 5 to a good position for an average height chair or sofa listening position.

Don't really want them up high, too worried about stands like that tipping over.Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

Neil, the 5A/B are about the same height as the 7s, just narrower. I have a pair of 5As and 7s in a storage room. The original stands will work. I have a pair of original stands that came with the 7s I bought. The front of the mount measures 8" above the top of the base, and the rear measures 7 3/8" above the base. That's your 6 degree slope.Post edited by westmassguy onHome Theater/2 Channel:

Interesting. I thought these were a lot smaller. Ok, well that makes life pretty easy. Thanks Dave!Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

FWIW -- I'd concur; the original PolkStand dimensions will yield a stand that works fine with the 5s.
My recollection is that the 5 is a little shorter than the 7 -- but certainly not by much (if any).
I could go upstairs and measure a 5... but the 7As are in their boxes in the basement (and I am too lazy to get 'em out). -

Well, there you go, then.

Here's a photo (sorry for poor quality...phone camera) of a 5Jr+ on a 22" spiked stand. The tweeter is 38" above the floor. FWIW.

Cool, thanks for all the help! I actually just ordered a pair from a guy who sells custom speaker stands on eBay. He is going to make me a pair similar to the original Polk stands, but two inches taller to compensate for the speaker being a bit smaller. From the top of the base to the bottom of the platform will be 10", with a 6 degree tilt back. I'll post pics when they arrive.Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing.
