I found this site recently and wanted to share. Seems like a good resource for comparing the sound of different caps.

That's been around for a while, and it's ONE persons opinion. Take it with a shaker full of salt.Home Theater/2 Channel:

Awe man, even if there were a panel of ten people and the best lab control methods one can think of...it still is going to come down to ONE person (That means you!) listening to different resistors and caps to decide if or what differences there are.
I mean...think about it. Why would anyone ever post anything about how a speaker, crossover, cap, resistor sounds? Its just one person sharing their experiences in life and hobby vs. sitting around and doing nothing. Given that the site is called: "Humble Homemade Hifi" and he starts his notes out with: "The subjective results of this test are meant to give you a basic idea of the sonic differences between capacitors when used in loudspeaker filters"
its sounds like the guy is just sharing, living and loving his audio life and not claiming to be the authoritive voice and last word on how caps sound. Some times "Audiophiles" take things too serious. just sayin'
Having said all that....I've been checking out his Seranza design and have been waiting for updates. http://www.humblehomemadehifi.com/Speranza.html
I can't wait until he posts his feedback and design plans and. IMO, that would be a DIY end game speaker for me on the surface. I plan to build my next set of less costly speakers (Statements II) but would love to build a fullrange Scan tower someday. Everything 2 ch and good will come....in time.Post edited by WLDock on2.2 Office Setup | LG 29UB55 21:9 UltraWide | HP Probook 630 G8 | Dell Latitude | Cabasse Stream Amp 100 | Boston Acoustics VS 240 | AUDIORAX Desk Stands | Sub 1 - Mirage Omni S8 | Sub 2 - Mirage Omni S8

Wow, I can't remember the amount of times I've seen this in this industry and in reviews....you get what you pay for right? At what cost does the high end begin and mid-fi end? It all ultimately comes down to the individual's ears. We all know that we heard different. Having spent a lot of time around musicians, I have some old friend with perfect and relative pitch that can tell you what note the AC unit is humming at! I remember in our early 20's one of them introducing me to his hifi rig. He got sick of listening to average stereos and saved up to by some JBL monitors to mate up to a tube integrated to play his jazz vinyl collection. This same fella used to write scores for our high school jazz and concert band.5. He KNOWS which part is being listened to, and how much they cost, and therefore, since going in, he already states that he expects to "Hear" big differences, he is very biased to hear what he expects to hear.
We all hear different! Some will hear differences and some won't! So every piece of equipment in the signal chain can be evaluated. Some can hear a difference in a matter of seconds and some can listen for hours back and forth .and not hear a difference!
