    1. Robby Krieger--The Doors #76
    Krieger stepped on to play with Los Lobos at Sunshine MF and I thought it was pretty daggum magical even though it was too brief. My first time to see him.

    We were warming up by the beer tent waiting for Tedeschi Trucks when he was playing Doors tunes with some Zappa players on the second stage. That did not sound too great TBH, mainly due to vocals. It wasn't enough to lure me away from our table at any rate. But the brief interplay with Lobos was one of those special moments to me.

    I almost included Steve Hackett and Steve Rothery in my post. They are phenominla as well. IMO, again much better than "The Edge" who seems to use a similar guitar stryle to Steve Hackett.

    Steve Rothery obviously loves David Gilmour, but is a phenominal guitar player in his own way. I have seen Marillion live about 5 times and Rothery (and the whole band) never ceases to amaze me.

    Wes Montomery is a fantastic guitar player as well. Sort of a full bodied, fleshy style of picking. Easy to listen to without getting too compex.

    Soime great choices there! Also, none of them are the top 100 list. What a shame.

    Nice to see Robby Krieger still using a Gibson SG as he always did. So many guitarists started w/ either SGs or Les Pauls then converted to Strats mainly I think for endorsement deals like EC, Beck, Pete Townshend, Trower, Doyal Bramhal lI and a boatload of others. Also they can be a bit more versatile w/ the 3 pick up set up and some did add a humbucker at the bridge position just for that Gibson round sound. Interesting fact, Alvin Lee did like Strats but his playing style got in the way of the knobs so he added a single coil p/u in the middle of his humbuckers on the Gibson ES335 Big Red just for that reason as did Jerry Garcia on Wolf in the neck pos.

    11 Steve if that's the guy who plays that Martin in Union Station w/ Alison Krauss. You are right on target w/ him never being mentioned. He's so good Clapton asked him to play solo on one of his big Cross Roads benefit concerts. He's also a great acoustic slide player. Excellent pick
