I have a set of Audioquest Type 4 Speaker cables w/UST banana but don't have the threaded UNI-Spades or Bananas.

If you have 8 of them laying around I would like to buy them. These items seem to have dropped off the earth when they were discontinued. If I can't find them I will just cut the wire and install my own....but I'm just checking around first.

Thanks

Walt

Audioquest don't solder their ends on my friend. They are cold solder. meaning there are set screws that hold those ends onto the wire.
What you need to do is buy a set of the new style Banana Plugs from Audioquest , screw off those old style and put the new ones on.
If you need any help with that just ask.

Well, I've read their Cable Theory paper many times and I'm aware they believe in crimping. However, these old Type 4 with the Universal Banana (which I don't like!) have completly molded covers.

So you are saying if I cut the molding off, there are set screws for the terminals like the new ones? Those Universal Bananas do fit my gear but they are odd to me. I prefere the new Suregrip type banana much more:

I may even want spades for the speaker end.

I cleaned them up and used them as is....but they are not as secure as most banana's due to the limited contact area. I will leave them alone for now.
