So I bought a pioneer vsx 524 and a Polk psw 108. I have a 5.1 klipsch sound system. I know, I know, I should make up my mind on what brand. However, here is the thing!
I hook it all up and no bump. I went with option one on the manual and could not get it to work.
Can someone help?

Have you made sure the sub option is turned on? It would be under speaker set up.

Sub option is turned on

Hello,
The first step is to determine if the subwoofer is working or not. To do this turn the volume of the subwoofer all the way down. Then remove the sub-cable from the rear of the Pioneer and connect it to either the right or left output of your DVD player (hopefully you have one). Then begin playing a CD in the player and slowly turn up the volume of the subwoofer. There should be plenty of bass at even the lowest setting.

Another way to easily test it is if you have one of these cords. I use this hooked to the iPhone & go to Utube bass test & test away. Very convenient method

Okay so I tried the cords you suggested and the woofer works! Now what do I do?

Hello,
I'm going to assume you used the above mentioned cable instead of the sub-cable that I recommended, correct? If so, it is possible it is sub-cable that is defective. If you have a DVD player or a CD player try using the method I described.
If the cable is working then the problem is with the receiver.
