Ok, I am in business! Sonicaps, Mills, and Cardas Litz ordered from Soniccraft. Jantzens, hurricane nuts, and some grill cloth ordered from Parts Express. Binding posts ordered from eBay. I already have a spare pair of RD-0198's, Dynamat Extreme, and Armacell. Hopefully the Jantzen coils will arrive sooner than the quoted 45-60 days.
Still haven't made up my mind on whether or not I'm going to do the veneer on these. I'm going to the electronics first and see how they sound. If I love them, I'll probably do the veneer work, otherwise the vinyl laminate isn't too bad.
Thanks again for the advice!Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance. -
Here's another question - I keep noticing on the crossover boards that inductors seem to be mounted perpendicular to each other. Is this by design or just coincidence? Knowing that the coil is creating a magnetic field, I can imagine that mounting them perpendicular to each other might prevent them from interfering with each other. Is this the case? I would obviously need to take this into account when laying out the parts on the boards.Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

Inductors in close proximity should be at a 90 degree angle so their magnetic fields don't interfere with each other.Home Theater/2 Channel:

Yep, that's what I figured. Glad to see I learned something in physics class. Thanks Dave!Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.
