Here we go... New source en route!

After much back and forth between Esoteric K01 and EMM Labs XDS1, I decided on a significantly simpler player. I just was presented with an opportunity that I could not say NO to.

Figure if I don't like it as much or I upgrade to one of the two heavy weights above, I can always use it in the secondary system.

En route to me as of today is the Cary 306 SACD! I trust it will complement my entire Cary front end well. Will get some sort of a streamer to get music off the network. I already contacted Cary audio and have been guaranteed product support should I need it. Great company and great products.

Now I can't wait for all this stuff to get here... Finally, after a 7 year sabbatical, I got a system back.

Cary 306 SACD to Cary SLP05 pre to Cary 211 FE monoblocks to B&W 802 Diamonds... Can't go wrong with that. This will be a good system I think.

    Heeeey Tooony...

Pro version? Nah man, John Atkinson a/b'd the two and couldn't tell the difference.

I'm thinking this is version 1 of my system... we're going to go through some familiarization first and then we are going to really push it later this year. Let's see what the high end really has in store.

I really want to see what this EMM Labs XDS1 is all about and no better way than to get it in my system when I actually have a good grip of what my system sounds first. Plus, I want to see and wait for Esoteric K1 prices to start dropping a little into the 8s before I'll jump into the koolaid pool of Esoteric.

Next up, we gotta start finishing up the room, racks, some seating, and then start looking at some turntables.

Will constantly keep an eye out for 3 speakers on audiogon - 800 diamond, SF Stradivari, Magico Mini II. If the right deal comes along, then we can start adding to the system.

The Elipsa SE and the Guarneri Memento, sellers and I could not see eye to eye and I am not in a rush to add to my collection just yet.

But yeah... thanks guys for welcoming me to your forum!

Great gear. Congratulations. I hope you are feeding it good, clean power, and have great power, interconnect, and speaker cables to bring out the best in the gear. Don't forget vibration control either, that is almost as important as cables.

Will try to go to LSAF, but i received my schedule a week ago and I'm working that weekend. I forget which shifts though. I could not request the weekend off ahead of time because I found out about LSAF after the schedule requests were due.

Plus, April to May is a busy month for me, I'm headed to Chicago the first week and then I'm pretty loaded the rest of the month and I have to create a teaching presentation for the firefighters too. But I will try to make it down to LSAF.

Saw that Cary on A'gon, very good price. I believe you will like it.
Let's see what the high end really has in store.

In that case, pass right by EMM and Esoteric. You want the dCS Scarlatti stack, absolutely incredible.

Gawddamnit Jesse...here I was all happy with my Esoteric and now you go and pull this crap?!? ;)

Going to be content with my Esoteric for a while but I wouldn't kick the Cary out of bed and have more gear to add to my lottery winnings shopping spree with dCS...

LOL you act like I change gear weekly. I just run into deals to improve what I have.
The problem is, while I have been moving up the chain, I keep forgetting to sell off the lower links. Hehe. Now that the storage unit is filling up though, time for me to stop being lazy and liquidate some stuff so I can dump those resources into bike and car upgrades for the summer!

Hey, my pockets aren't deep enough for the dCS stack either, but thought I'd mention it 'cause it is special. So much so that I had an emotional experience listening to it.
