Psw450 subwoofer distortion when turned ON or AUTO

Hi there, I have a psw450 presently turned OFF. The reason is that if I turn the switch ON or AUTO, there is automatically a loud and constant distortion sound that come off the sub. No matter the volume or if I have the signal cable in. I unplugged all rca or audio source and the sound stay (it really sound like I listen an AM band at the radio but without receiving a good signal). Anyone know the source of that problem? If I plug the rca like usual, I actually don't have the sub working.

The sub itself as been tested on a other amp: good
The rca cable as been tested too: good

The power caps seem to be good, how can I test it?

    Hello,
Welcome to Polk's forum. From your description I would say that the bass amplifier is defective. The best thing to do is telephone Polk's CS department, on Monday, at: 1-800-377-7655 and they will help you solve the problem.
    Regards, Ken

The thing is that I don't have warranty, so I need to do it myself...

Is there any way to get the schematic of the amp? not sure, it looks like there is one resistance missing (the r38).

In all likelihood Polk CS can provide amp schematic. There can be many iterations of an amplifier design which can result in parts being indicated on the circuit board but not actually used.

    Hello,
I believe that if you contact Polk's customer service department by emailing them at: polkcs@polkaudio.com you can ask them to send you the amplifier's schematic.

Hello, welcome to club Polk forum.
Ken is a great guy and very knowledgeable. Just call the CS (customer service department) they will most likely email a schematic to you. The CS emailed me a schematic for my PSW1200 sometime ago!
You can also use the search box and probably find it somewhere on the forum. I hope this helps! Kenneth is a great guy (so are many of the other forum members) and has helped me whenever something goes wrong with my stuff!
