Swapping Polk Speakers
Current Setup:
-FRONT: RTi12
-SIDES: RT800i
-CENTER: CSi30
-Rear: R20
-Sub#1 PSW303
-Sub#2 PSW110
_Receiver: Onkyo TX-NR929
-Amps: Adcom 5802
Adcom 555
Ok, before we get into debates about amps versus receivers versus speakers timbre matched, I would like to say that I have adjusted and worked at this for a long time. I know that ALL will not agree with amps, speakers, and receiver combos.
What I need is an opinion on replacing my RTi800i's with Bookshelf speakers. I have re-done my Home Theater room, and the Floor standing RT800i's have been very loyal. Unfortunately they don't fit the new set-up. What I need is a Polk Book Shelf speaker that will replace their undying sound quality, without killing the bank.
Opinions & Suggestions with why, are now solicited?!?!?!?!?!?

Are you planning on putting the monitors on a shelf or the like? The reason I ask is because monitors on stands will take up the same real estate as floor standers.Political Correctness'.........defined
"A doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a t-u-r-d by the clean end."

RT55's are probably the closest to the RT800's if you can find a pair used somewhere. F1 is right though you're going to have to put them on something that will eat up the same real estate.____________________________________________________________

I second what DSkip says, an RTi set to timbre match the RTi12's seems like a no brainer. What am I missing?
