DVD 1: Master and Commander--Excellent Movie(Suckie Ending)
DVD 2: Lord of the Rings: Return of the King--Excellent From Begining to End

If we could get over this Pakastani love fest and start talking about SACDs again, this thread might prove to be a valuble trove of information for everybody. The guys with the DVD-A thread are actually winning the high-ez wars here at the Polk forum, and they are spreading mis-information about SACD. The folks on the DVD-A thread are claiming that SACD is a 24 bit technology, when every fan of SACD knows that DSD is a 1 bit technology. So all of you dudes in Pakistan start your own thread to continue your little reunion, and let us get this thread back to talking about SACD again.

How can ANYONE even begin to argue that DVD-A and SACD are direct competitors? I was played the first song of Carol King's "Tapestry" on SACD then Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now" on DVD-A My dad and I just looked at one another-nothing needed to be said about the superior sound quality and fullness of the 30+ year old recording on SACD as opposed to the 2002 recording on DVD-A. Just listen to them both one right after the other... it makes for a short argument.

My DVD player crapped out on me. I just bought a Phillips Model "DVD 795 SA" It plays everything(SACD, DVD, CD, MP3) too)...hopefully it plays everything well. Does anyone out there have one? Do you like it?
