polk melee no audio in left hand channel

Hi, i recently purchased a set of polk melee gaming headset for my xbox, everything worked fine for a couple of hours and then i unplugged them and put them aside. I came to use them again the next day and i have only got sound in one speaker i have this problem on my xbox and my phone and i have tried another cable and it's still the same, the odd thing is if i put the sound to the left hand side on my phone it still plays sound out of the right earpiece.
