    I could see Midwest Speaker Repair jump in. They did on the MW8000 (S series 8")when Polk stopped making them. When I called Polk to see if I could order some new ones they told me about Midwest and that they gave them the specs to reproduce them.

    When I bought a pair of 198s a couple of years ago, they showed up in the dreaded "white boxes" minus any Country Of Origin information. There was no COO on the drivers themselves.

    Far as I know, failure to list COO of an imported product is illegal. Also immoral. Best Guess: Made in Communist China.

    Called again, got transferred to an extension. Had to leave another message. What number should I be calling, because apparently these are not sold in the online store. I called 1-800-377-POLK (7655) Option 4.

    I didnt ask price on tweeters as it wasn't a concern sorry I do know they quoted new mid drivers at 60 each. That was 6510 woofer and the 6503 that I thought about swapping out to. I would say they are somewhere close to 50 no more than 60 for sure.

    I see that they have billed me for the new tweeters on Monday so I assume that both the RD0-194 and RD0-198 are back in stock for now and I should be seeing them soon.

    I just placed an order for the 198s. They still have 36 in stock FYI.
    Regular price was $60, but with the forum discount t of 20% it was just $48 per tweeter.

    Funny, I'm also in the bay area. I'm up in San Rafael (office is in San Francisco).

    I spoke with Ken who mentioned the same to me. He seemed quite familiar with the 198's and with Club Polk.

    Thats great. When i called Ex 4 they didnt know what a Polk Audio SDA speaker was. I think it was the online something another & they switched me over to someone else who said April. Well thats great. They wont last long im sure

    Back on topic: Boston1450, yes the people at the extension number 4 don't know about those tweeters. I think you need to go to extension 2.

    My tweeters came today and one of them has a broken terminal. However, Gary from Polk set things right and has a replacement on the way. Just a few more days and I will finally find out how these babies can sing!

    Sorry to hear Hofy.

    On my end i received confirmation that my tweeters have shipped yesterday. Between the sonicaps, gold connectors etc... i have a about $600 worth of upgrades that should arrive in the next 2 days. This is going to be one hell of a busy weekend!

    Hopefully none of the parts will be broken...

    Listening to the 198's in my 3.1TL's right now. I picked Rumors as the record to try them out with. Stevie is sounding great! So far the 198's seem much more energetic.

    Replacement tweeter came today. I have them installed in my Monitor 5jr's. Wow so much better than the original SL-2000. Even though they are not broke in yet I think they sound even better than my Monitor 5A with Peerless.
