Somebody Shoot Me

OK, so I was out of town all week and living out of hotels. While working Wednesday night, an episode of the Goldbergs was on TV in the background. They were repeatedly covering "Eternal Flame" by the Bangles. Been stuck in my head for two days now...

AAAAAHHHHH!

Sounds like a "rusty ice-pick to the ear drum" moment. I get the same feeling when I hear a Maroon 5 song. Know your pain.

My wife can't understand why I don't like Maroon 5. Gonna have to show her your post as the reason.

DAMMM you Tony! I have two pre-teen daughters, and thankfully they stopped obsessing over this song last summer. Thanks to your post, my brain's audio system has switched tracks to KP...

I really need some tunes in my office.
  • Why would we shoot you? Step two in the brainwashing.

When I think of The Bangles I go Aaaahhhhh , only in a different way cuz I remember how hot Susanna Hoffs was LOL.

I loved their videos (^^^see above^^^), especially when it occurred to me that the volume control went to the left as well.
So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

When that happen I learned to just play some instrumental music and it knocks the other song out of my head!

If I can't read a book because a loud song is stuck in my head I also play some instrumental music very low so I almost cant hear it and it allows me to read.

I'd prescribe a big, heaping tablespoon of Ritchie Blackmore! ;-)

Awe come on Scotty... It was just a joke. Sorry if anything was taken in a way it was certainly not intended. Perhaps the thread title was insensitive... It's just a saying.

Ok after reading this I listened to eternal flame on the laptop and then hooked it up on the stereo and listened. Then I thought, man its like 8 30 am and people can probably hear me playing the bangles lol.

I liked that episode of The Goldbergs , decent family show , reminds me a bit of The Wonder Years for the 80's.

scuba, unfortunately, like most of my jokes people don't realize it was in jest.

Believe me I know where you are coming from, and please accept apologys if I made it sound serious.

Its strange how the songs that stick and annoy are usually the ones you hate, rarely the ones that are good enough to deserve clanking around up there.

Scotty - it's all good! I kinda figured you were joking, but wasn't quite sure sure.

Now I know for sure! :)

I know you've had some tough times, and was sincerely apologizing, although my response definitely reads more defensive. Although we may not know each other very well, I consider you and most everyone else on this forum extended friends and family!

Enjoy your weekend man! As for me?? It's 11 pm now and we've been without heat most of the day. Finally got our propane refilled and now I can't get the #*!$*-ing furnace to light. It took them a week to show up and I think we ran it dry this morning... Now I may REALLY need someone to shoot me!
  • My girlfriend's daughter is finally getting out of the "Frozen" epoch.

Have you ever been in a car for three hundred miles with a little girl and her friends singing that damn song, over and over?

Getting out of the car and having to go to a wedding almost made the wedding the lesser of the two evils.
