Yes indeed Tony we are well stocked here in anticipation of a doozie headed our way. It's supposed to be so bad that my son's swearing in ceremony for the Air Force has already been canceled to Wed or Thurs. My wife & I had taken off to be at Ft. Dix base for the ceremony. Now it looks like we'll be digging out all day instead.

I stocked up on booze, forgot the food but I have stouts so heavy you could chew'm. Its great when all they can tell you is "between 2-3 feet". Inches don't matter at that point.
I'm going to be snow blowing at 2am because I can and nobody will complain yet I wait until 7am on Saturdays to start up my table saw. What a world.....

Thanks Tony, but it's another Nor'easter. If you live here, and don't know what to do by now, you're a moron. People still clear the shelves of milk, eggs and bread for some reason, like there will never be any more ever again.

They blanket all the local station with the same tired info, where the shelters are, how not to die from carbon monoxide poisoning etc. This starts days before the storm even hits.
The coast is most likely going to be hit the hardest, with flooding.

I have my snow blower running in the garage with the door closed. I like how it makes my house smell.
I have also been sawzalling tires to burn in my fireplace when the power goes out.

My neighborhood already lost power. Been out dor about 1.5 hours so far. I would hookup my generator but National Grid is out working on a transformer.

Mass. Is in a state of emergency for tomorrow and work is closed.

It's literally a transformer on the ground (underground cables) 1/4 mile away. Probably 30 homes only. Still no power. I should go ask them how much longer. I don't want to get out the generator only to have power come on minutes later. Getting cold though.

Got it back at 10pm last night. So we're good. Not sure what was wrong since the surrounding neighborhoods still had power. Still, I am glad that what failed did so early and not today. If it did today then the crews would probably have been too busy to fix it immediately.

It's quite the blizzard out. I don't see anything down yet. I think we have a foot of snow but it's hard to tell with the wind blowing it everywhere and accumulating it in some places.

    Stay safe everyone.

  • I used to live in the Poconos for 15 years, until I became tired of shoveling the snow, even with an F-250 with a plow! So now I'm in S. Florida..... I'm still going to stock up on the booze!!!!!!! Just because my fellow polkies are up north with some good booze, so I'll have a few ones in the spirit of passing time hunkered down in the snow with them!. So bottoms up!!

But the hurricanes here can be just as bad! So we just do the same thing.... drink and eat, and listen to music!!!!

Thanks Tony, but it's another Nor'easter. If you live here, and don't know what to do by now, you're a moron. People still clear the shelves of milk, eggs and bread for some reason, like there will never be any more ever again.

Went to the store on Monday afternoon to pick up some necessities. Had to get a couple gallons of distilled water for the coffee maker (tap water has build up over time). There was no water left, none. I overheard one person say that when electricity goes out on the pumping station they have no water. What?!?!?!? You would think a town would have a generator for that. Fortunately our town doesn't have this problem.

But you're right, no milk, bread, but there were some eggs. I didn't need any of this but I was surprised to see the shelves so bare. I don't think any storm has been that bad that these items are in crisis for any extended period of time.

I don't want to imagine what will happen if there is ever a real crisis.
