I'm surprised to still see this here, what a hell of an amp. Beautiful sounding punchy beast it is. Phil If I needed it I would have already grabbed it. I've looked at it a few times now lol.
I'm sure someone will come along and snag it. You price is good.

Wish I had the cash right now! I've been following this for a while... wondering if it would be a worthy upgrade to our HT. I recently upgraded to a "new to me" Anthem MRX-500 that does a really nice job for an AVR once dialed in with the ARC. Would this be a noticeable improvement? Being very new to separates, since I have a 7.2 setup and this is a 5 channel amp, could I leave two channels powered by the Anthem? If so, which five would be best powered by a separate amp? I'm assuming the front soundstage and the side surrounds... leaving the rears on the Anthem?

If this is around much longer tempting me, I may have to steal from the income tax return... :#

That's the perfect way to use the amp to catapult your HT's performance. Or you can always power the surrounds with the amp & let the AVR power the rear surrounds. The surrounds are much more involved in the soundtrack than rear surrounds.

Thanks for the confirmation on that! I definitely here more from the surrounds than the rears, and I figured that the fronts and the surrounds (side) would be the preferred 5 of the 7 to power separately.

Hmm... I'm certainly very tempted. Someone else buy this so I can... regret it later. I still haven't found that buried fortune in our yard, and now that the ground is frozen, I had to stop digging!

You'll be kicking yourself in the arse if you let this one slip away. Great amp, great price...what are you waiting for?????? Let's just do it my good man! You'll thank me later.

No more convincing necessary... Talked to Phil this morning and looks like things are going to work out! He is kind enough to hold on to it for a few weeks for me and I'm going to be picking this one up in person. Really looking forward to meeting Phil, hearing his 11.2, and getting this amp in it's new home.

My master plan is to eventually have this amp (and possibly another 2 channel amp) for most, if not all of the 7 channels. Then, I'd like to upgrade my dual itty-bitty Boston Acoustic PV600 subs to something that packs more punch for movies. Wish I could get my hands on Dan's ED, or Aboroth's Outlaw, but Indy and Socal are just a wee bit too far to drive!

    Thanks for all the encouragement!

I took the beast RMB-1095 out of the system & replaced it w/ your new amp the RMB-1075...purring like a kitten. The 11.2 system awaits your arrival for a nice demo so you can hear it in action. You won't be disappointed.

Would love to hear your 11.2 KEF system!

Been considering moving to KEF's myself....just missed out on deal on some Q900's and a RMB-1095...and there's a Q600c and Q800ds on CL. Even thought about the Q300's as the LR.

Yeah, their price is nice...I've been watching the Q Series prices all over the net for a bit. However, the deal I missed out on was super and got the juices flowing. I will just wait it out for something else to come along.

Finally was able to make the trip to pick this up. Phil and his wife Maria (and their dogs!) were such gracious hosts. Listened to some tunes, watched some movie clips, shared some beers and enjoyed a delicious dinner too!! The amp made it home with me last night and is ready to be installed in our HT - just need to find some free time.

Looking forward to getting this running. Really enjoyed the the sound of Phil's system - so clean, crisp, and accurate. Those KEF's are amazing! I want to thank Phil and Maria for inviting me into their home, sharing an awesome dinner, and a great sale. I also want to thank Phil for potentially opening a new rabbit hole by being so helpful and informative on his Sonos systems... :p

OK, couldn't wait any longer, and had about an hour of free time Saturday afternoon. Got this amp all set up in the HT running my front 3 and my side surrounds. Let me just say WOW! I normally don't notice subtle changes in sound, but this addition absolutely brought a new life to the sound in the room. Even my 11-year old daughter noticed a difference. She came downstairs and with a smile on her face, said 'that sounds awesome'.

The Anthem (MRX-500) and Boston Acoustics speakers (VR-M60 fronts, VR-920 center, VR-MX surrounds, and VR-M50 rears) sounded good before, but this addition really cleaned things up. AND, I haven't even re-run the ARC setup yet! Even with my measly (hopefully the next upgrade) subs (dual Boston PV600), the bass sounded better/more accurate too.

BIG thanks to Phil for 'opening my ears' to better sound with his old Rotel!

Always heard great things about the Boston VR speakers...especially that VR-920 center. Wanted to try them out at one point. I was a huge fan of the Boston Acoustics Pro Series car audio components back in my early days.

Walt - I like 'em. They pack a LOT of punch for their size. They really came alive with the addition of the amp. Those encouraging me to take the plunge weren't kidding. I also need to shout a thanks to Cathy (cfrizz) for recommending (about a year ago) a separate amp to really wake up my speakers. She started me on the hunt for one!

You are more than welcome Scuba! You and I both have the VR-920 & Boston PV600 sub. The 920 really comes alive when given good power. These two pieces as well as my Pioneer Universal player was my step into HT. All about 14-15 years old now and still going strong. Enjoy.

This goes into what we keep saying. Don't judge your speakers until you can power them correctly. Too many want to kick their speakers to the curb for the latest and greatest without first seeing what the speakers they have can do.

Congrats on the new to you amp, and Phil is a great dude. Assuming of course he's still a dude, nothing has changed I hope. :p

Thanks Tony! This is an awesome amp and I love it. ...But, this was last year's thread when I bought the amp. I'm moving up to a 7-channel and now have this Rotel for sale here:

    http://forum.polkaudio.com/discussion/171740/rotel-rmb-1075#latest

Unfortunately, this old thread here is getting more attention than my FS thread... :( That's what I get for linking it in my new FS ad.

Phil is a great dude and I can vouch that he at least looked and acted like a dude as of last year!

This is still a great amp and will truly wake up your speakers. You can have it now for the low price of $450 (somewhat negotiable) if you go here:

    http://forum.polkaudio.com/discussion/171740/rotel-rmb-1075#latest

    Buy it and love it.

And in the interest of full disclosure, I have no idea if Dan still has the ED (amp)... or ED!

    :p
