I am currently running music from an Internet hd radio station from my iPad, but I have an unplugged line of cat5e which I can get the signal from directly.....what's a good black box to buy to handle this source, say 1000 or less.
Side note, I also have a Music Hall 25.3 DAC currently used for CD playback.

Is the quality of any Internet radio good enough to spend any good money on, I thought it was mostly 128k? Anyway this Cambridge Audio Sonata NP-30 does a lot more than Internet radio and has a Wolfson dac, it looks pretty good for someone who doesn't have an Avr with most of these features built in. crutchfield.com/p_779NP30S/Cambridge-Audio-Sonata-NP30-Silver.html?search=internet+radio

interesting. what does an HD stream look like, bitrate wise?
Squeezebox Touch - discontinued by Logitech, but still very popular and can be had in very nice, often near new condition, for around $250 - $300. you can even use the Squeezebox Remote Control app from your iPad. does internet radio as well as a bunch of other popular services - Spotify, Pandora, TuneIn Radio, DI.fm, Sky.fm...I disabled signatures. -
