Parasound HCA 1200II

The amplifier is rated at 315 watts per channel into a 4 ohm load. Frequency response 8-150KHz, and the amp weighs over 40 pounds. It is designed to be rack mountable, and offers a mono/stereo switch on the back of the amplifier. Also offered are separate volume level controls for both right and left channels, operation LED, overload LEDs, High Temp LEDs, numerous protection circuits, standby LED, and fused protection.

The amp is in fantastic working condition. The amp, however, has had one of the air vents in the back cut out to improve ventilation. You can see this in the photo. This was done by the previous owner. Since I have had the amp for 4 years, though, the cut hasn’t adversely affected the performance of the amplifier. I originally purchased this from an Audiogon seller and have used it in conjunction with a Parasound P/HP 850 Stereo Preamplifier.

I have one of these and they are a fantastic amp and it's at a sweet price. Let us know what your location is, maybe a local polkie can jump on this and save you from having to ship it.

    Yes.

I will be using this amp with Infinity RS-IIs which are much harder to drive and it will be fine.

I know, I know.....I keep thinking about pulling this one back and keeping it! It is a great amp and if it stays out here too long....I'll probably just hold onto it.

It would be sitting in reserve and that just seem to be a waste of an great amp

Why has this not sold yet?

If that's other than rhetorical, I can venture a guess that the cut out in the back is dissuading some potential buyers.

Yea I agree. I just saw one sell on eBay for $330 + shipping. It didn't have a cut out back either.

Not having a 12v trigger makes it a tad less appealing then say a 1500a which is similar in specs and price.
  • daboyz
    daboyz Posts: 5,207
Ouch. I'm not going to comment on the price but a cut out in the back? It's worked great for four years. It's in the BACK. I guess I'm not that picky. If I'm not mistaken you'll pay a lot more for the 1500, also.

Hey, you recent posters (yeah, you know who you are), there IS a rule around here - and you've ALL been around long enough to know it - against thread crapping in someone's 'For Sale' listing. If you aren't interested in someone's item that's listed, just move along.

    VERY poor form. >:)

Not intentionally crapping, but i apologize if it seemed so. The thread seemed to turn to the rationale of why the piece is still here. Its a good price. I was simply stating that many like the convience of a 12v trigger. The 1500a comment was from personal experience, but in retrospect, i probally got a better than average deal.

Wow, xj, too many noggin shots in that tumbling Jeep of yours? :p From the 'bay posting: "The amp is in fantastic working condition. The amp, however, has had one of the air vents in the back cut out to improve ventilation. You can see this in the photo." The listing pics were the same as he used in his listing here too.

Anyhoo....all's well that ends well. Congrats on the sale, dhart86!
