Hello guys and gals my name is Niko. I have been a monitor engineer for over 10 years but switched into family restaurant business as I got married awhile ago . Now that I am more of a home body I am building myself a man cave. I will update my signature as time goes on. I am not a hi fi guy(but maybe i will be), don't get me i know what sounds like **** and i know what sounds good. But im not picky as to have the craziest mods in order to achieve the highest quality. So anyway I will be reading and have been reading on upgrading my Sda srs and my Sda srs1.2tl I own. I currenlty building a home theater room is roughly 15x30. Rhe big boys are my fronts and reads with a polkcsi5(think thats the model numbe) as a center channel. Have two macintosh mc2205 and a onkyo txnr1000. I also have 6 12inch subwoofers that i will be addding to the room. Have some pro audio amp that will power them.
Anyways ill be reading for a lil but now on upgrading thebig boys.
Thanks for those who have posted all this stuff so we new memebers can read.
Ps im Greek so my spelling is not great sorry.

If you wanna get the most out of those, with out upgrading them, get a dedicated 2 channel amp per pair, and another for the center, much better everything over a pro amp made to drive entirely different speakers, in different situations, with different results. I'm not an expert on any of this, as I have not even gotten my ears on some SDAs yet, but I've been on here enough to know that, sunsfire seems to be a good choice, make sure its common ground. Check out the SDAs thoroughly, all drivers move freely, no fried tweeters, capacitors still good, SDA cables still around, no signs of corrosion on the connections, passive radiators still intact. So much to go wrong with speakers that old and a pro amp may speed that up(versus good clean power), especially if you crank the volume, and it just won't sound all that good. 6 sub's and SDAs, got bass? Lol nice selection you have there, welcome to the club, and man I miss the Mediterranean, I just spent 2 1/2 years in Sicily. Good luck with putting your system together.2 Channel(work in progress):DAC: Schiit modi 2 uberAmp:Parasound 1200 MK IISub:RBH 1010-SEP Speakers: Monitor 5A peerlesscurrently running some krk rokit 3g since the HK pre outs died and i need to start breaking everything down to move in a couple monthsHeadphones:Source: tidalDAC: schiit modius epre: schiit sysAmp: AQ dragonfly black/ schiit magni2 Cans: Velodyne V-True, Grado SR225i, sennheiser x drop gaming headsetPC:DAC: schiit modius e(over spdif)pre: schiit sysspeakers: prenous eris 5 xtSub: Earthquake Sound MiniMe-P63most of my comments are passing on of info, im a noob, im just trying to help how i can, if im wrong or out of place to comment, dont hesitate to let me know "WITH WILLING HEARTS AND SKILLFUL HANDS, THE DIFFICULT WE DO AT ONCE, THE IMPOSSIBLE TAKES A BIT LONGER, WITH COMPASSION FOR OTHERS. welcome to the forum. Nice speakers you have there. i also own both of those models. You can do some of the mods fairly inexpensively and they are absolutely worth it. good luck and enjoy. If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of Progress?!

Thanks guys. Yes the mc2205 is for the Polk sda srs. The pro amps are for my subwoofers. Not sure what I'm gonna do as far as bi amping. The receiver I have is def we'll know for it's power output. Def in the top 5 for home receivers. So maybe I'll use the the 2205 for the front bi amped and use the reciever power for the rears, not sure yet. Gonna run a dedicated 20 amp circuit first .
Between work and family, hobbies have become a late night adventure. My first priority is some simple upgrades. I know one of the Tl the tweeters are blown and on the other one I'm getting some type of rattle from inside the box(sound like port noise) specifically above the terminal where the polk serial number is. If I place my hand on it and push it goes away. So I'm gonna open up and do some testing soon. -
Welcome to the forum ooklaa, sounds like you have a plan and know what you want. Which pro audio amps are you going with for the subs? I know Crest Audio are popular and many others have suggested upper end Crown and QSC.
