Psw 505

Ok I have an episode 10 inch sub and a psw505. I have them both hooked up to the lfe input on the sub. For some reason my psw 505 puts about half the bass when its used to on the lfe input.The 10 is way louder when the psw505 is plugged into the lfe. When I plug the psw505 into the l/r rca's it works great. Any ideas on what the problem could be? I have a pioneer vsx-1022k receiver.
