I have 1B's. I am gonna make a cable tomorrow, or try to anyways. But am wondering now if all the drivers work on this model if there is not a cable connected between the speakers.

Nope. The dimensional drivers only work when there is an IC connected."Some people find it easier to be conceited rather than correct."

The SDA drivers provide bass reinforcement for the stereo drivers with no IC cable attached. Polk had a fancy name for this, "something-or-other sub-bass something something". I'm too lazy to look it up. Add the IC cable, and the SDA drivers do double-duty--the SDA signal as well as bass reinforcement.
NOT true for the SDA1, SDA 1A, SDA 2, and (maybe) the earliest CRS, (am I correct--any model with an SDA tweeter) where disconnecting the SDA interconnect disables the SDA driver(s).Coulda swore I can hear both tweeters working. -
Thanks guys!--Gary--
