hey! it's been eons since I posted here!
anyway, my sda 2btl's, with upgraded coils, sometimes at extreme volumes develop a crackle on one of the inside 6.5 drivers..im running an adcom gfa555..does this sound like I'm hitting the limit as far as current goes?
BTW when I do hear this crackle, my feet don't even touch the ground, I'm on that volume control so fast;)
thanks
mike

I ran the same amp with my 2b's & it sounded wonderful. I never went that loud with them. It could be the driver is heating up or other issues need to be ruled out..

If the issue follows that driver in another cabinet, time to get replacement.

Sounds like you have a driver that has a weak spider."Make a man a fire and he'll be warm for a day. Light
a man on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life." -

Or the VC former has come undone.
My RTA-11t driver was like that.
Spider was fine but the VC coil attachment was ripped in few places around.
