    LOL. Mexico is country, and Spain is a country. If you are born in Mexico, and grew up in Mexico, then you are a Mexican. Unless his parents were illegally in Mexico, then he might not be Mexican, but I am unsure how Mexican law works in that area.

    No they moved legally. What I mean is that he identified himself as Spanish, he was raised speaking Castilian Spanish, not the Mexican dialect

    That makes sense. Any smart Mexican would try to identify culturally with anyplace other than Mexico.
