Using RTi6 as a Center Speaker

Hi,
So I've been narrowing down my speaker selection and have decided on the RTi8 towers.

I cannot fit the 20" or 24" center channel speakers in my console.

I've been looking at other brands but before I start doing that I thought I'd ask if using the RTi6 as a center (laying flat) would work out.

It is only 14" in height (in this case, wide) so it would fit.

The only other center speaker I can find that will fit is the Paradigm Center 1.

Any advise would be great!

  • If you don't mind the way it looks, go for it. It will sound just fine.
Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. • Yeah, it's not the ideal way I want to set it up... but until I get a small audio rack, which I can't find anywhere for under $500... I'm stuck with this type of setup.

Once I can find a rack, I can move the RTi6 to the rears, since they're only sold in pairs.

yes the RTi6 would work, bummer you can't fit a true center in there
When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

  • I know... As soon as I find a rack similar to the Sonax CR-2360, I'll get the CSi5... if it is still available.

I cannot find any enclosed short (around 30") component rack.
