The wife and I for awhile now forgo giving presents to each other. Like I need another tie, or she another book etc. Instead we save some coin for trips. All well and good, but we also adopt a couple families in need and buy presents for them. Giving is way better than receiving in my book....or my stage in life I guess.

My wife hates to shop....so I do the shopping. I hate to wrap....she loves it. A match made in heaven we are. Anyway, just a friendly reminder to some who can afford to do so...to give alittle back this season. Many I know have been out of work, lost their house, etc. Please take the time to contact your local charitable groups or churches to find out what you can do this season to make someone who's down a tad bit more happy. That's it....your service announcement for the Holidays.

    Me and the wife quit exchanging gifts long ago we also quit doing it for adult family members it's all about the kids and grand children. I do renew our Sirius XM radio for the cars and online that's about it, and she covers the Netflix account so we remind each other at Christmas what we do for one another, tunes and movies keeps us happy.

    My Family had all given up buying present's long time ago, spend it on food or wine or kids. now I just pick up Angels cards from the tree at the malls and buy several gifts, You can still have a blast trying to spoil kids and people you never meet.

    Dumb luck my friend, now the 1st wife....she could have made a career out of it.

    Anyway, I don't want to hound people, we are all adults and give in our own individual ways....when we can anyway. Just wanted to remind some folks that no matter how bad you think you have it, someone else has it worse.

    I'm not one to simply send coin off to an organization that you never know how much is actually going to help the people. For me, I choose to help those in my own community so that results can be more direct and impactful. Kind of a "help your neighbors" approach. No better feeling folks, than to see a kids smile. Even if I don't actually see it, I know they will.

    No matter what you do, enjoy the holidays guys.
