    Jayden,

Nobody has answered you here so I will give it a shot. I'm glad you have shown interest in the audio hobby at your age and have taken the time to custom build an attractive enclosure for your Polk speakers. However, speaker design is very technical and takes a lot of study and experience to be able to turn out a decent product. If you're interested in some building advice, I suggest you create a post in the "DIY, Mods and Tweaks" section of the Polk forum and be sure to include some pictures. Perhaps some members can give you a little input that might take those speakers to the next level.

Really? Do you really think it's that easy? This is about the dumbest thing I have seen posted in a long time around here. I am all for DIY, but you are going about things ALL wrong here.

  • Hi Jayden,
Thank you for participating in Polk's forum. Building your own speakers is as great way to learn about how good quality sound is produced. It would be great if you could post some photographs of you and your friends enjoying music on your system. There are lots of us who get a kick out of DIY projects and would love to see what you've worked on.
    Best regards, Ken

    I might agree here.

But Polk builds their own speakers and use high quality gear to do so. Building a cabinet is easy for a DIY project but you would need some other more complicated equipment to do some measurements....matching drivers....crossover design, etc. They don't buy designs, they employ designers themselves.

That said, we are still interested in seeing your design if you'd post some pics. Many here are DIY'ers and maybe can offer you some suggestions to take it to the next level.

....and with that said, stay in school and if speaker design is what you want to do then roll with it and call Polk when your out of college.....or start your own business building speakers. There's more to it than just design.

If you can't take the time to type a full and proper response so one can understand it what makes you think Polk Audio would be interested in any design you may have come up with ?. Beside Polk has a whole R and D department with a lot of high tech testing gear just sitting around designing and testing things.

If he really is 14 then yeah. I got a feeling we're being baited... Hell, Trey, Sid the Kid, VR3 was like 14 when we first got to know him. Look how he's turned out and MUCH fun was had at his expense.

So, jaydendietz2000 I see you clicked the disagree button on my last post. The fact is the RULES of the Flea Market state that you must have 100 posts before you can sell anything here. Perhaps you didn't read the rules or perhaps you ignored them. Either way, it doesn't matter. Now, that you know you have broken the rules, you will retract your disagree.

I'm not sure what to think of the OP.
Is he serious or just blah blah blah.
If he is really 14 and came up with a nice design, we may have a genius. ;)
