Hey,I am putting together a pair of 7B's but am confused as to how to wire the woofer/driver.There is a red dot next to one post but want to confirm which wire goes here, the white or the black?

On vintage Polks, Black is Hot/+, White is Ground/-.
The red dot indicates Hot/+Home Theater/2 Channel:

Red is the new black
After done, you can check polarity with a battery.

Once you are done plugging everything, use a 1.5v or 9v battery and connect battery +ve to speaker +ve and battery -ve to speaker -ve terminals.
If the woofer moves out, they are correctly wired.
If the woofer moves in, the polarity is reversed.
Check both speakers to confirm they move out.
Here is a video for individual driver.

I would recommend a 1.5 volt, and only touch the battery terminal momentarily, enough to see the cone move. You don't want 9 volts dc hitting the tweeter coilHome Theater/2 Channel:

So,can I do this with an assembled speaker by connecting the 1.5V batt. to the external binding posts? -

I personally would not do it on a vintage Polk. If you wired the tweeter and woofer correctly, and the binding post's colored caps are correct (red left, black right), you should be fineHome Theater/2 Channel:

Got the 7's back together and they sound good.
I think I'll rebuild the crossovers sometime soon and see what that does for them.
