N1 Surroundbar/Xbox One IR Issue

Just purchased the N1 and I've noticed a pretty huge issue with the IR and the XB1. I use the XB1's media remote to control volume. A "volume up" IR signal goes from the media remote to the XB1, then the N1 IR code is sent out via the Kinect blaster to the Polk N1.
The issue here is the volume up/volume down IR commands to the XB1 from the remote conflict with the N1's ability to receive IR signals.
I own two XB1s and two universal media remotes, I've tried both remotes and both XB1s in different rooms. The issue is the same. If I use the voice command ("Xbox volume up") it works just fine. If I use the included Polk remote, it works just fine. However if I use the XB1 media remote, nothing happens (reliably, sometimes an errant command will get through the interference). To further prove the point, if you put the remote right up to the XB1 and shield the IR from hitting the N1, it works flawlessly. Further, if you try to send the volume up command from the universal media remote and use the included remote simultaneously you run into the same non-responsiveness issue.
For a product that's supposed to be "made for the XB1," this is a pretty big oversight. I called both Polk and Xbox support, neither were aware of any compatibility issue. Polk told me to move my soundbar, but obviously that doesn't really make a whole lot of sense. Anyone else run into this, or am I the only guy who owns both the N1 and the universal media remote?

Seeing as you posted this nearly a year ago, I'm guessing you most likely either figured out your issue or ditched the soundbar altogether, but I figured I'd respond anyway. I had the same problem you did, but it was a relatively easy fix for me. I just taught the N1 the volume +/- and mute commands from the Xbox media remote. Worked like a charm. Even though it's a long shot that it will, I hope this helps!
