Dang DSkip I dynamated but you took it to a whole new level:)

Skip doesn't mess around. I added some to my unit but not in as many areas-his is really covered. To the new owner, as I said above, this is still my daily CD driver even though I have a nice Jolida tube player that is smoother and warmer but also more $, probably double the original price of the Pio. But most of us did not buy this player at its $599 MSRP but on the closeout price at BB. I and another Polkie shot everyone a post on this a number of years ago.

    Enjoy!

I thought if you use the RCA outs, your AVR will ALWAYS say PCM. And that PCM means that the audio is going through the Blu-ray player's internal DAC before being sent to the AVR. When you hook it up through an HDMI cable, it bypasses the Blu-ray player's DAC unless you specifally have it set not to in the Blu-ray player's settings. But both ways give you uncompressed audio. I could be wrong, but that's what I always thought.
  • I'm only using my AVR for video switching in this setup - so HDMI to AVR and RCA to my passive volume control to the power amp.
