My uncle johnny served in nam, got 2 purple hearts, and died decades later of agent orange liver, his first granddaughter was born with terrible spina bifida, his son got 26000 bucks to buy his family a real house.
my dad turned 18 in Korea, got off the chosin reservoir by two vehicles, pretty much the rest froze to death. he spent 14 months in a va hospital before being turned out on the streets.
Grandpa served, WWII.
Before that its a little foggy for ours.

Thank you to all of our Veterans.

Family-wise, my side. "Alexander" American Revolution, Civil War (both sides), WWI & II, Vietnam and the Gulf. Wife and I both were in the USCG during the Gulf but were stationed here. One of my uncles was over there however. Oldest son ROTC (Army), youngest is now a Marine (graduated about a month ago).
I know a little about my wife's side but I'm sure it pretty much reflects what I know of mine. Interesting little tidbit on her side though. Some of her bloodline comes from the Cherokee who refused, fought, stayed, and were finally recognized in North Carolina.
I will reiterate, the above statements. Thanks to all who served, continue to serve or have family that do/did. And, yes, lest we forget November 11th...Remember, when you're running from something, you're running to something...-me -
I'll also reiterate the above, might also add they deserve more than one day of our thoughts and prayers.HT SYSTEM-
