TSi Speaker problem

I got these new speakers and for some reason when my receiver volume is turned up the sound dips and comes back. There is no distortion. I tried a new receiver with the same results. I use heavy duty speaker wire. Does any one out there have any ideas why this happens.

You need to provide a lot more info. What model AVR? Is it brand new? What are the sources. How do you have everything connected? How high is the volume when this happens? Are the speakers brand new or just new to you?

Heavy duty speaker wire ? Whats that ? Cheap 12 ga. from Home depot ? You can do better.

I'm guessing your using bare wire ends to connect to the speaker posts and receiver posts. Be sure you do not get any of the plastic coating on the wire caught in the posts....or any fray strands of copper wire touching another post. Double check.

Also, what constitutes "loud" for you ? Where on the volume dial ? My other guess is your over driving them.
