Lost Polk SDA SRS2s

"Too large" not just the external dimensions. The SRS2s were what I truly loved.
I'm also trying to decide if I want to take the chance that I'll not see $300 worth of RDO tweeters as an improvement. (to my ears) If the TLs "win", there'll be a set of 2s up for grabs in Maryland possibly.
I too was on the fence about upgrading the tweeters in my 2.3TL's when I first got them. I thought the SL3000's were slightly tizzy and without enough extension. Was concerned that the RD-0198's would be too smooth, maybe rolled off.
Not only were the 198's smoother, they had better extension and better transients. A total win for me."Science is suppose to explain observations not dismiss them as impossible" - Norm on AA; 2.3TL's w/sonicaps/mills/jantzen inductors, Gimpod's boards, Lg Solen SDA inductors, RD-0198's, MW's dynamatted, Armaflex speaker gaskets, H-nuts, brass spikes, Cardas CCGR BP's, upgraded IC Cable, Black Hole Damping Sheet strips, interior of cabinets sealed with Loctite Power Grab, AI-1 interface with 1000VA A-L transformer -

Though i have never A/B'd these 2 speakers gdb's respone does not surprise me. In fact I have stated many times here that I prefer the 2A/B's over all of the other SDA's I have used/ owned (from a pure SQ perspective) including SRS models. This is due to simple physics as it relates to source points and time/ phase relationships of multiple driver systems. I belive the SRS 2 would likely best other SRS models except possibly the 3.1TL. I could be totally wrong as I have not heard either of these models at this point, but from knowing what my ears like in relation to the physical properties of speakers i have listened to through my years I would expect my opinion to be the same.

Still looking for Polk SDA SRS2 speakers in very good condition.
Needs to be in Texas. Best around Houston, Austin, San Antonio where I can arrange pickup.
Many thanks. -
Sucks what happened to you. If they were the 86'blade/blade, the SDA-1B would be a good alternate. If they were 87' pin/blade, then the SDA-1C would be the alternate. They have the same driver compliment, and the crossovers are essentially identical (sub-bass drive Inductors differs on the 1C).
The 1C would be the better of the two alternates.Home Theater/2 Channel:

Thanks westmassguy. The person who I trusted to store them for me gave them away to a charity resale shop because his wife told him to. Didn't email me to let me know they had to go. Can't remember which connect cable plugs they had. They were musical instruments. Their sound was beyond believing. They were to be the center of my restored system when I moved back to the States. Do the SDA-1B and C have the 4 midrange speakers?

Is there a difference in the sound between the SDA-1B,C and the SRS2?
-
The SRS-2s have larger cabinets, and use 15" Passive radiators, while the SDA-1B/C use 12" Passive radiators. The SRSs should go deeper on paper. I've only had ears on the 1Cs. The SDA Handbook lists the overall frequency response for them, and they're very close, however the low frequency -3db point is not listed.Home Theater/2 Channel:

Again, many many thanks. This does give me 2 more options.
Fingers crossed for a very good pair in Houston, Austin or San Antonio. -
I'd opt for the 1Cs over the 1Bs. Much more versatile for the type of amplifier you want to use, and the crossovers are less expensive to upgrade if you choose to.Home Theater/2 Channel:

Still trying to find very good condition Polk SDA SRS2 speakers for sale in Houston, Austin or San Antonio. Then I can arrange a pick up. Distance is an issue because I will have to ask friends to pick the speakers up since I am still in France. These speakers are to replace a pair that were given away by the person I trusted to store them.
Many thanks -

Could you keep looking in just one thread please.
I'm surprised moderation hasn't merged all three threads you have about this into one thread already.
I wish the 100 post rule still stood for the wanted to buy/for sale forums.
"Make a man a fire and he'll be warm for a day. Light
a man on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life." -
Would be OK with me. Can I do that myself for does the moderator have to do the merge?
-
I guess moderator has to do it.
Moderator if possible would you merge the treads into one under "WTB Polk SDA SRS2 or SDA 1C" please.
Many thanks -
I'll see if that is possible.
-
The two discussions have been merged.
-
Is there a way to change it from Lost to WTB?
Or do you think Lost is better for finding my new speakers?
