Has a polkie here been eating coconut bars? lol

Well I was just having a look at the ever joyful Coconut audio products from Patrick or what ever his screen name/names were when he graced the forum with his insight. Upon reading his feedback it infact looks like we may have been wrong about this guy

Check this lengthily feedback review left " At first I was doubting the quality of the Coconut Audio Cleopatra RCA IC'c and even gave Patrick (the mastermind creator of this awesome set of cables) a hard time. I publicly now apologize to Patrick and publicly confess these cables far surpass Name Brand cables costing big bucks. I change out from some very expensive Name Brand IC's to the Coconut Audio Cleopatra RCA IC's and thought I was listening to a whole new system. I am not kidding. The sound was IN MY FACE and just for fun I switched back to the Name Brand Cables (name starts with a N-and ends with a T) and sure enough my IN MY FACE sound did an Elvis on me.....yeah it left the building!!! So changed back and Wallah...it was so obvious that I am now a fan, if Patrick forgives me, and pray he does, as I will not be shy adding anything he makes to my system, Thank you Patrick, the cables are down right stunning!!!!! "

So do the IC's have that silly putty on the ends like the PC cords did, and if so does it leave a residue on your gear? Perhaps that fellow Polk member will chime in. I'm glad to see that you have not gave in to the Coconut Audio hype as of yet PFB.

Ok, I gave into the oil and paid 20 more dollars for the same exact cables that I bought from Blue Jean only these are wrapped a check of a lot better! I would (if I. Needed another set) bypass BJC in a minute and grab some more coconuts, but good luck with that! Anyway, I really dig mine, so have fun on my act! I know some here Have not much better to do, in fact, start calling me snakehat! ! I kinda like that! And wouldn't ya know who has nothing better to do than read the feedback on Coconut Audio's page on audiogon, yes our very own resident PFB....too funny there as well. He must still be out of work, or just really bored?? Don't worry kid, when ya get back to work and save a few dollars, I'll sign you up for the Coconut trial program.....like one snake oil cable is better than the next?? All too funny, and can't wait to see how many more posts this PFB can raise on this one. The joke should have been me buying the Blue Jean cables (same exact cable) with a thin (almost see through) material over the 2 cables??? Really, I'll take Patrick's snakes any figgin day of the week for 20 more bucks!! Thanks

For a cable to beat out a BJC, isn't really all that hard to do. Bottom line though is as long as your happy with your sound, who are we to call you nuts. Personally though, Coconut audio gives higher end audio a bad name and plays into that "snake oil" tag many like to associate with higher end audio. Like I said though, as long as your a happy camper, that's all that counts.

Right Tony, and that's all I'm saying. I didn't know that there was so much bad press on the company before hand, but if he got off the crazy crap and was selling the cables for the same price I got mine for, I'll be the negative crap would go away quickly! I can't see paying big bucks for his cables, nor any. I gave the seller a hard time and felt I owed him a public "I'm sorry" so I did just that!! I am not a mean spirited guy. I have IC's 2M retailing for 2K and some that retail for 600, and they all sound good. I'm not chasing the proverbial tail any longer, just digging what I got and having fun with it. If I can be part of a joke....it's all good to me. I don't mind it one bit. Kind of makes my day. Now, back to a lazy day with my beautiful wife. Movie day!!

So Patricks IC's are only $20 more than the BJC ones? How do his compare to the 2k ones and the ones for $600? I thought all of Coconut Audio items retail for a heck of a lot more than BJC stuff, but at only $20 more they must be Coconut Audios entry level cables. They trump your more expensive cables why not try them out.

When I clicked PFB's link late last night, there were a couple of items for sale. One of them was a power cable named .... (it's not there anymore) "Red Dragon Something-Or-Other". With 2 days left, the asking price was like $2.69.
For $2.69, it kind of falls into the category of a Woot Mystery Box: you don't know if you're going to hit the jackpot, or wind up with something that looks very nice sitting in the trashcan ready for disposal.
The downside was the shipping: something like $50 from Sweden, or Canada, or some other far flung nether region.

I didn't see on the site any of the uber-mega-other-universe cables with esoteric crystal rocks that go for $100,000+. IMO, those cables fall into the snake oil category and, as others have mentioned, do the high end of audio a disservice.

Apparently, from the feedback from "63tomtran", the stuff he's bought have been "great tweaks". "63tomtran" has posted a lot of reviews. I have to imagine the items he's buying are lower cost items. If he's buying boatloads of $100K+ cables, he must be uber rich and, I'd have to suggest, an idiot. :)

So sure, if somebody can get something relatively cheap, and it doesn't take away from your system, buy away ! Years ago, I bought a big spool of Monster OFC 10-gauge speaker wire from Best Buy. Not because it was "Monster" or that it was from "Best Buy" (both hi end audio names :) ) but because it was on clearance and dirt cheap. ( it was dirt cheap because despite being OFC, there was oxidation about 5 feet in from the end of the spools).
Bought it, used it, and was happy. Didn't take away from my gear, didn't necessarily add to it, but overall, it looked cooler than heck snaked across the floor. Bit of a hard time getting 10-gauge wire connected into the nanners, but ....., the important thing was it didn't take away from my R30's and R50's. :) And it was cheaper than 16 gauge wire. And it looked good. :)

Ok, taking the time to chime in on anything that PFB takes time out of his busy and productive time to post is all I need to see, and great to see a couple of you actually used this thread to refer to me a dweeb?? Really?? Only on the internet do you brave that up, but really shows me that just about all that took the bait (except for a couple) are ones that make snide crap shots whenever you can, and I guess as silly as PFB has been declared on here to be just that, for anyone to chime in to crap on this Patrick guy and me is laughable. I'd like to see your home made cables!! Oh that;s right, one if you is too busy trying to pass other over inflated cables around the horn so you can toot their horn (fun) and the rest are still chasing some audio tail never quite catching that just right sound, so while I ended up with a cool looking and decent sounding set of ropes for dirt cheap, and said some nice things publicly about the guy from Sweden, I am happy and have a lot better feel for some of the members here, one in particular that has been very nasty to a lot of people. I think Karma will catch him, if it hasn't already. Keep on keeping on people and even if you can't play, play anyway!! Love to all!

  • CNH, you may want to suggest to your sister that she deep-six the coconut oil/butter stuff and go with this:

    http://www.amazon.com/American-Biotech-Labs-Silver-ASAP365/dp/B0016SJLD2/ref=sr_1_1?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1414368171&sr=1-1&keywords=asap+365+silver+gel

This stuff is awesome. Want smoother skin ? Little dab 'l do ya.
Want to make sure you don't get a MRSA/SARS/staph/ebola infection on a deeeeep wound ? A little double dab 'l do ya.
    Straight up.
Sounds like snake oil, doesn't it ? (and this is how I'll claim I'm staying on topic).
    But it's not.
    AWESOME STUFF.

In fact, if I were you, I'd buy it myself and give it to her (I enjoy spending other peoples' money). Long term, she'll owe you a big debt which may come in handy as a hard winter is predicted this year. I suppose you might want to pick us this for her while you're at it:

    http://www.amazon.com/HMK-HM3SHOVELP-Pink-L-Handle-Shovel/dp/B003CJCFVS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1414368956&sr=8-1&keywords=pink+snow+shovel

I cant believe the comment THJ, Jesse devotes alot of time and effort into the MIT demo program to allow people to listen to high end cables in their own home. There is no secret agenda or horn tooting yet you choose to bash on this in support of the alien crystals, what say you.... tinfoil hat johny?

What you say PFB, you smoking stuff off of a tinfoil?? Probably why you keep losing jobs. And if you want to drag other people into the drama you so thrive on, get you assumptions straight. Jesse does his thing just fine, and he's in a different league then you'll ever be. If I can be one of your jokes, laugh it up, as more members on here know you are a joke, yeah I said it. I still get a kick out your remarks in other threads as well...... So I bought a snake oil set of cables and I happen to dig em...so what?? The seller may be on some trip, but I saw how much c.r.a.p. he gets and decided to be extra nice to the guy. Nuts to me and now I apologize to all that I may have offended. Except you PFB, you just remind me of the guys that hold the "Will Work For Food" signs at the intersections, so PM me your address so I can mail you some food coupons!!
