Just giving a listen to my Marantz 2385 on my Monitor 5b's. Listening to Led Zeppelin IV on vinyl. Wish I would have had this rig in the 80's. It woulda upped my quota significantly. The M5's are still great ! Even got the lava lamp cooking. I'm missing something tho...

    Woodford Reserve rocks! Triple distilled like Irish Whiskey. Got to tour their distillery one time, even their buildings resemble the Jameson buildings in Ireland. Smooooth stuff.

    Yes and replaced the vellum too. Different look than the original fuse bulbs but produces much less heat... not that the heat is too much but it does make the plastic parts more brittle over time.

    I have always loved the look of the 70's marantz receivers. With cars going retro look, i wish audio would as well.

    I totally agree! my 2 favorites are that & Knob Creek, but go just fine with the Marantz. Nice Receiver there Mike!

    Yup the Marantz's are lookers. I didn't take that pic though. It was one of a series of 12 the seller used to entice me to purchase it. I've been admiring the pictures you posted of your gear... nice very nice, the Halo gear looks great in black... I don't have a camera, could you recommend
    one for a beginner, something not overly complicated or expensive... but yet nice enough that one wouldn't feel the need to "upgrade" any time soon. I already suffer from one form of upgraditis I hesitate to add another.d8sie2w2me6d.png

    There is so much fine gear out there and many members here have a great reviews on the site. Tos start, let us know what speakers you have and any other gear in your rig and you will see that the membership here will give you a lot of solid advice on how to spend your money :).
