265-RT "Wall Dist." Button Problem?

I noticed yesterday that only the tweeter of a 265-RT in-wall was firing yesterday and after messing with it, found that the problem seems to be with the "Wall Distance" switch. Toggling this switch in and out slowly brings on the other drivers intermittently and with varying quality at every instance of the switch's travel - not just fully pressed in or out. I do not use this feature, so I don't need it replaced or fixed, and I'm ignorant to the components and circuitry of a speaker, so my question is:
Can the Wall Distance switch be removed (or bypassed)? Not physically, but electrically. If so, do I need to isolate all three leads? Or would it be some combination of jointing 2 leads together and isolating the other?
Unfortunately the speaker is only 6 months old, but I made the mistake of purchasing from a terrible "internet retailer" who I'll never do business with again, so I don't think I have warranty coverage and highly doubt wasting my time contacting them would get me anywhere.
Thanks in advance for any help, it's much appreciated.

Hello,
It's probably best to contact Polk's CS guys tomorrow and ask if they can send you the crossover schematic. Once you have that you can tell how the switch is configured to the circuitry. They are at 1-800-377-7655 or polkcs@polkaudio.com.
