LSi25 onboard amplifier issue

Greetings - hope I am posting in the right place. Recently my left LSi25 onboard power amplifier has stopped working. The symptom is no "green" indicator light in either of the two rocker switch positions (other than off) and no low freq. sound.

I see no external fuse holder and I am curious if there is an internal fuse? Is there another common issue that I can troubleshoot? I can't seem to find much info online.

Thanks,

MJ

  • Hello,
The fuse is on the other side of the amplifier's input plate. You want to remove the AC power cord then take out the 12 screws that go around the circumference of the amplifier's input plate. Then the complete amplifier comes away from the cabinet, the fuse should be near where the AC power cord goes through the plate.

  • Hello Ken,

Thank you for the reply and the good information. I will dig into it tonight and see what I can find.

  • You're welcome, glad to be of help. Let us know what you find.
  • So the fuse checks out good via multi-meter. I assume this means the amplifier itself has gone kaput.

Are these repairable or is this something that must be purchased new? The transformer would be my next suspect in the chain but no need to test at this point if the whole assembly needs replaced.

BTW - It might not be a bad thing to buy a new assy and get the other repaired for the inevitable failure of the Right speaker amp...
