Surroundbar 5000 loosing remote connection

When I start watching the tv, both the tv remote and the soundbar remote can adjust the volume of the soundbar. However after a bit of time both of the remotes stop being able to adjust the sound. If I turn the soundbar off then on again it works for a while, then the same issue. I then tried adjusting the volume using the volume controls on the soundbar, (which works) then the remotes work again. Any suggestions to fix this issue?
