Pioneer Elite sc-63 Issue

About once a week I'll go to turn the volume up or down on the remote and nothing happens. Its like the remote is dead.... but its not. If i hit power on the remote it says zone 2 on.

So i spend 1/2 hour **** around with settings/removing batteries then all the sudden everything is back to normal again.

ITS FREAKING ANNOYING and I can't figure out what keeps putting it into this "mode".

The manual doesn't explain why this keeps on happening so I thought I would ask here and see what you all think. Am i pushing a button on the remote on accident that keeps sending it into this zone garbage. I don't use extra zones or anything, its just standard surround sound.

Am I the only one who has this problem?

I think I have done the same thing several times....it is annoying, but I cannot recall how to remedy it.
  • I messed with it for a few, couldn't get it to work right, then all the sudden everything was fine again. I just wish i knew what caused it, thanks for posting :)

I bet you answered your own question. Bottom row of buttons performs operations for Zone 2 and 3 when pushed.

It doesn't go into any mode by itself , someone is hitting the zone 2 button my man.
Do yourself a huge favor , put that remote in a drawer and get a Universal remote. This way you can't press zone 2 when your trying to use the Main zone.

I know my pio remote had a slide at bottom for zones. Would be hard to do by accident. If something was not working, i always hit the receiver button and then things were controllable again
